- Lead, supervise and motivate the public area attendants and porters; assign daily tasks and monitor performance.
- Inspect public areas regularly to ensure cleanliness, presentation, lighting, signage and furniture arrangement meet hotel standards; conduct spot checks and follow up on corrective actions.
- Manage cleaning schedules, deep‑cleaning rotas and special projects (carpet cleaning, upholstery care, window cleaning, event turnarounds).
- Ensure public restrooms are stocked, clean and hygienic at all times; maintain checklists and replenishment logs.
- Coordinate with Front Office, Engineering and Security for event setups, guest movements, VIP arrivals, lost & found handling and immediate maintenance issues.
- Supervise and train team in correct use of cleaning chemicals, equipment (ride‑on scrubbers, vacuums, floor polishers) and personal protective equipment; enforce safety procedures and MSDS compliance.
- Monitor and control inventory of cleaning supplies, consumables and small equipment for public areas; request replenishment and record usage.
- Record, escalate and follow up on maintenance defects (lighting, flooring, furniture) and ensure timely closure with Engineering.
- Ensure signage, hoardings and temporary barriers are placed correctly during maintenance or wet‑floor conditions to protect guests.
- Handle guest complaints related to public areas professionally and ensure timely resolution; report trends to Housekeeping/Management.
- Maintain accurate daily reports: cleaning checklists, incident logs, lost & found entries, manpower attendance and productivity.
- Participate in recruitment, performance appraisals and disciplinary actions for the public area team in coordination with Housekeeping Supervisor/Manager.
- Support sustainability initiatives (waste segregation, water/chemical reduction programmes) and report opportunities for improvement.
